Jeffry Oktavianus, Ph.D.
Communication, Health, and Social Change
I study how communication and emerging technologies can improve health, strengthen communities, and address social inequality.
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Communication at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. I received my PhD in Media and Communication from City University of Hong Kong. Before entering academia, I worked as a reporter and account executive in Indonesia.
My research lies at the intersection of digital media, health communication, and social inequality. I examine how new media and emerging technologies can support public communication, address health disparities and misinformation, and strengthen participation among underserved communities, such as migrants.
