I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Communication at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. I received my PhD in Media and Communication from City University of Hong Kong and later worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at its Centre for Communication Research.
My research lies at the intersection of digital media, health communication, and social inequality. I examine how new media and emerging technologies can support public communication, address health disparities and misinformation, and strengthen participation among underserved communities, including migrants. My work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals, such as Journal of Communication, Information, Communication and Society, Computers in Human Behavior, and Health Communication.
A major focus of my current work is the communication experiences of migrant domestic workers. Through community-engaged research, I explore how storytelling, language, social networks, and artificial intelligence can improve access to information and support while addressing stigma and structural inequality.
I believe research should not only explain social problems but also contribute to practical change. My work has informed language education, health literacy initiatives, peer-support programs, and digital resources developed with migrant communities.
My teaching is closely connected to these interests. I teach and develop courses related to digital media, artificial intelligence, research methods, and professional communication, while supporting students in conducting socially relevant research.
I welcome opportunities to collaborate with researchers, students, community organizations, health professionals, and technology designers working on communication, health equity, migration, and social change.
